The Village Lights Up for The Holidays!

Annual Holiday Lights – Dietsch Park
November 27, 2022

The holiday season really is here once the lights are turned on in our community!  Despite the miserable rain that evening at least 40 people came out to share the excitement and a cup of hot cider with The Village neighbours.  We had quite a selection of sweet and savory treats under the tent in Dietsch Park.  The weather caused the Social Committee members to cancel the other goody tables at the other parks as nobody wanted to walk around in the rain.  Although few of us walked around that evening to admire the work of our Village volunteers – we all enjoy seeing The Village lit up for the holidays.

Thank you to Dale DesIslets and his many volunteers who decorate The Village for us and thanks as well to the Social Committee who arranged the yummy treats for the evening.  And thanks to residents who brought a food donation for Newark Neighbours.  We were happy to deliver a car full of food to the Food Bank with donations from those who attended.

Lumières in The Village

Battery lights didn’t hold a candle to the real thing!

In response to our Fire Department’s safety concerns regarding open flames and the expense of ineffective battery-operated candles, it has been decided we will forgo lighting of Lumières on December 23 as in past years. We trust the existing lighting is bringing cheer to your holiday season!
